Noemi Espinoza Madrid

Noemi Espinoza Madrid is the senior adviser on strategic engagements in the Office of the President of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

She brings with her over 20 years of experience at the United Nations.

Noemi began her career in 1996 at the Permanent Mission of Honduras to the United Nations, where she rose to the rank of Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative.

From 1999 to 2003, Noemi also lectured in Economics at the New School University in Manhattan.

She joined the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in her native Honduras in 2003 and moved back to New York in 2005 with UNFPA, where she most recently served as Multilateral Affairs Adviser.

She was also Special Adviser to the first Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth.

Noemi holds a Masters in Economics from Vanderbilt University, is fluent in Spanish and English and has a working knowledge of French and Portuguese.
