
Mark Seddon
Media Adviser
Mark Seddon is the media adviser in the Office of the President of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly. He works with the Spokeswoman for the President to ensure that United Nations–based and other correspondents in broadcast, print and social media are briefed on the activities and programme of the President. He also prepares some of the President’s speeches, remarks and statements.
Mark is a former UN Correspondent for AlJazeera English TV and Editor of Tribune. He has also worked in the Speechwriting and Communications Unit for former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and was a Director of Communications for United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education, Gordon Brown. He has written regularly for The Guardian, The Independent, Independent on Sunday, Evening Standard and New Statesman. He was a visiting Professor at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University, New York in 2017.
He is a graduate from the School of Development Studies at the University of East Anglia.
