PRESIDENT TO ATTEND DOHA FORUM AND

ADDRESS CHALLENGES TO MULTILATERALISM AT QATAR UNIVERSITY

United Nations, New York, 12 December 2018 – The President of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Ms. María Fernanda Espinosa, will travel to Qatar, where she will begin an official visit on 13 December.

In Doha, The President of the General Assembly will be a guest speaker at the Doha Forum and meet with representatives of the Qatari government.  The PGA will also visit a Centre for People with Disabilities and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work. Ms. Espinosa will attend an event at the Qatar National Library and visit the Museum of Islamic Art.

Ms. Espinosa will be a guest speaker at the seminar, “Multilateralism under Threat: the challenges facing the UN in the lead-up to its 75th anniversary”. The event is being organised by the College of Law at Qatar University.  She will return to New York on 16 December.

The PGA’s delegation includes her Chef de Cabinet, H.E. Kwabena Osei-Danquah, her adviser on Peace and Security, Sarah Al-Emadi, Communications Adviser, Denise Kling as well as her Personal Assistant, Carolina Nazzaro. All travel costs are covered by the State of Qatar.
