The President of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Ms. María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, met today with H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The President of the General Assembly expressed her deepest condolences on the passing away of the late President Tran Dai Quang last Friday.

They discussed shared priorities for the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, including climate change and revitalization of the UN, and Viet Nam’s contribution to the UN and multilateralism. The President commended Viet Nam for the signing and ratifying the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
