One of the first decisions in planning an Model UN conference is: Who will be included in the leadership roles, and how will they be selected? An accurate UN simulation needs to consider the leadership structure of UN entities.

This guide focuses on the GA, the SC, and the UN Secretariat. A list of other leadership roles in the UN family is provided in the appendices. To a certain extent, the number of leadership positions will depend on the size of the conference. That being said, the following list of leadership positions for GA simulations is recommended:
