The UN Office of the Special Adviser on Africa is launching its 2025 flagship reports on Africa’s development.
The reports show that delivering financing for development and durable peace are two sides of the same coin and offer actionable recommendations for Africa's sustainable development.
The report “Promotion of Durable Peace and Sustainable Development in Africa” provides an overview of the peace and security landscape in Africa, the continent’s progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, and the interlinkages between peace and security, development, humanitarian action, and human rights in accelerating progress.
The report “Strengthening the National and International Architectures for Financing for Development” underscores the urgent need to overhaul the systems that finance Africa’s development. It shifts the focus from treating the symptoms of underdevelopment to addressing its root causes, placing strong country systems and institutions at the centre of sustainable financing.
