President-designate of the Nineth Review Conference of the States parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons

On Monday 24 November 2014, Ambassador Taous Feroukhi from Algeria has been endorsed as President-designate of the Nineth Review Conference of the States parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), which will be held in New York from 27 April to 22 May 2015.

Ambassador Feroukhi is currently serving as Director-General for Political Affairs and International Security at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. She comes with a wealth of experience in particular in the field of disarmament gained throughout her career which includes postings in Vienna, inter alia, assuming the chairmanship of the Board of Governors of the IAEA and the presidency of the Preparatory Commission for the CTBT. Ambassador Feroukhi has headed the Algerian delegation to sessions of the Preparatory Committee for the 2005, 2010 and 2015 NPT Review Conferences.
