From Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)

Far from having phased out from Gaza, UNRWA  personnel are significantly scaling up their services.

Our 12,000 colleagues, who have worked without pause throughout the war, despite their own displacement and bereavement, have seized the opportunities offered by the ceasefire.

Our teachers have brought back more than 50,000 children to in-person learning, with thousands more to be reached by the end of the year.

Our medical personnel are delivering 40 per cent of primary healthcare in Gaza, with services expanding daily.

Our personnel continue to play a critical role in distributing water, promoting public health through immunization campaigns, pest control, nutrition screenings, and the disposal of solid waste.

Our expertise, workforce and community trust is critical for a successful recovery and political path forward.

Despite immense challenges, our work for Palestine Refugees continues, whether in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, amid violence, conflict, political change and socioeconomic hardship.
