IOM Regional Response to the Crisis in OPT Situation Report #36 (Covering period: 03 – 17 October 2024)

17 October 2024

Response Highlights:

IOM is utilizing its extensive logistics networks to transport essential aid into Gaza. Once there, aid is distributed to those in need through partnerships with UN agencies, INGOs and local NGOs. The supplies are sourced through a variety of channels, including bilateral partnerships, in-kind donations and IOM’s Common Pipeline Programme, which is a resource available to other organizations. Border closures, bureaucratic impediments and severe access constraints have resulted in low levels of aid entering Gaza in September and October. No IOM items have been handed over to partners in Gaza since 1 October 2024 due to logistical and access challenges. **

Despite these challenges, IOM continues to expand its Common Pipeline Programme, procuring and pre-positioning essential items near Gaza while registering new partners on the ground to distribute items as quickly as possible to the affected population.

**The total number of items delivered has risen since the last report due to a data processing lag; it does not represent an increase in items that have been handed over to partners.
