Brazil Ambassador Visits UNDP Projects in Gaza

Gaza, 12 July 2016 – The Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the State of Palestine, H.E. Francisco Mauro Brazil De Holanada, accompanied by First Secretary of the Embassy Mr Ricardo Fleury visited the Gaza Strip on 12 July 2016. The purpose of the visit was to see first hand the situation in Gaza and some of the projects funded by the Federative Republic of Brazil.

Mr Basil Nasser, Head of UNDP office in Gaza, accompanied Ambassador Francisco Mauro Brazil De Holanada, where he had the opportunity to visit two projects funded by IBSA (India, Brazil and south Africa), namely Atta Habib Hospital and Al-Quds Hospital in the Gaza Strip. The projects aim to rebuild and enhance access to public health infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. In addition, the Ambassador and accompanying delegation visited UNDP Office in Gaza and held meetings with senior team members to explore new areas of partnership with UNDP in the Gaza Strip.

H.E. Ambassador Francisco Mauro Brazil De Holanada expressed his appreciation of the works that have been implemented, and the strong and successful partnership between Brazil/IBSA and UNDP. He also expressed the commitment of the Federative Republic of Brazil to supporting the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
