New York, 6 January 2012 – Secretary-General's Remarks to Correspondents' Reception

/…

I expect to travel a lot and will try to take as many of you with me as possible. You are welcome whenever I travel. If you want, I will be very happy to travel with you. We are still working out the details, but this month I expect to visit the Middle East, beginning soon with Lebanon next week. Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates, and after that I will visit some more countries. I know that some information has already been leaked, but an official announcement will soon be made.

I am very much encouraged by this meeting between the two parties, between the Palestinians and Israelis, in Jordan. I have been discussing this matter with the Jordanian leadership before that and I appreciate the leadership and initiative of His Majesty King Abduallah [bin al-Hussein] of Jordan and the Foreign Minister [Nasser] Juddeh for their initiatives and I''ll have the opportunity of discussing in the near future.
