Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People
UNDP Special Representative of the Administrator Mr Frode Mauring met with H.E. Rula Maiah, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities on 15 August 2012 in Bethlehem. During the meeting, Mr Mauring reiterated UNDP’s commitment to the development of tourism especially that it is one of the main income generating sectors in the occupied Palestinian territory. UNDP’s work in supporting the tourism sector is through the restoration and rehabilitation of cultural heritage sites and improvement of touristic areas and networks, in addition to training and capacity development.
