Maltese Prime Minister visits Pharmacare in Palestine – Press release/Non-UN document


PRIME MINISTER JOSEPH MUSCAT VISITS PHARMACARE IN PALESTINE

The Prime Minister Joseph Muscat together with Maltese delegation visited the Pharmacare complex in Betunya, Palestine.

Pharmacare is currently a production centre of antibiotics, general and veterinary drugs.

The Prime Minister and his delegation participated in talks with a group of Palestinian businessmen.

The Maltese delegation included Foreign Affairs Minister George Vella, Tourism Minister Karmenu Vella and Member of Parliament Charles Buhagiar. 

The Palestinian Minister of the National Economy Jawad Naji Hirzallah also participated in the talks.

During the talks the two sides agreed on the setting up of a joint business committee with the objective to strengthen the commercial ties between Malta and Palestine.

The Maltese business delegation was led by Malta Enterprise.  A cooperation agreement was signed between the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and industry and the Palestinian Federation of Industry.
