Following France’s objection to the destruction of cisterns, what, in addition, is France’s position on the tramway construction project in Jerusalem
Our position regarding settlement activity is clear and constant: we condemn it, in East Jerusalem as well as in the West Bank. It’s illegal under international law, constitutes an obstacle to just and lasting peace based on the two-State solution, and undermines the trust necessary for the resumption of negotiations between the parties.
That’s why the Jerusalem tramway project, which helps to link several Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem to West Jerusalem, poses a political problem.
