The Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) expresses his condemnation and deep concern at the illegal practices being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation authorities in the occupied Palestinian territories and their deliberate assassination of Palestinian leaders through extrajudicial killings. Moreover, the Israeli occupation forces have continued their incursions into Palestinian cities, wreaking havoc and wanton destruction upon Palestinian homes and property, and effecting mass arrests.
The OIC Secretary-General calls upon the international community to exercise pressure on Israel to put a halt to its naked aggression against the Palestinian people and exhorts the two parties to avoid any escalation of the violence.
The Secretary-General reiterates his call to resume the implementation of the obligations and commitments incurred under the Roadmap in order to restore a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East and empower the Palestinian people to establish their independent State with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
