Secretary General: Palestinians of 48 Delegation's Visit to Arab League, Prominent and Historic Event (28-4-2004)

Secretary General Amre Moussa of the Arab League received today a delegation of 48 Palestinians at the General Secretariat. The delegation is currently paying a visit to Cairo to partake in a forum over "Arabs of Israel" organized by the Arab League in cooperation with the Cairo University's Center of Political Studies.

In a press conference following the meeting, Moussa described the delegation's visit to the Arab League as "prominent and historic". He said the meeting of representatives of the Arabs of Israel with their brothers in Egypt and other Arab states, along with today's meeting in the Arab League, all set a significant start of cooperation aimed at achieving the common interests in peace, stability and respect of human rights all over the Middle East.

Secretary General Moussa further said the particularity of the Arab community in Israel has been taken into consideration, and therefore concern is laid to providing it with services within the possible framework, especially that this community's orientation is aimed at serving the Arab interests and aspirations in reaching a just peace, which is a matter of importance that we all share in.
