Of note this week

Gaza Strip:

· The IDF killed six Palestinians, including an eight year old Palestinian girl, and injured 16 others.

· Four Palestinians were killed and ten Palestinian police officers were injured during armed clashes between several suspected Palestinian drug dealers and Palestinian antinarcotics police in Shejayeh Quarter.

· During an IDF military operation inside Khuza’a, the IDF levelled 45 dunums of agricultural land planted with olive trees and demolished a bird farm.

· A total of 17 rudimentary rockets and 50 mortars were fired by Palestinian militants at Israel, resulting in the death of one Israeli civilian and the injury of three others. In

addition, 68 mortars were fired at the IDF in the Gaza Strip resulting in the injury of one IDF soldier and the inadvertent injury of one Palestinian man.

West Bank:

· The IDF killed a 22 year old Palestinian man during a family feud (Hebron) and injured another 38. 23 of the 38 Palestinians were injured in Ni’lin village, during demonstrations against the construction of the Barrier and the resulting isolation of approximately 2,500 dunams of Palestinian private agricultural land. (Ramallah)

· A 70 year old Palestinian man, his 68 year old wife, and a 32 year old relative from Khirbet Susiya were injured when a group of four settlers attacked them with iron pipes

and sharp objects (Hebron).

· The IDF imposed closures on 8 and 9 June due to the Jewish holiday of Shavuot. As a result, Palestinians with West Bank IDs holding permits to enter Israel were prohibited from accessing East Jerusalem and Israel, with the exception of emergency cases and employees of international organizations.

· Palestinian, Israeli and international peace activists held several peaceful demonstrations in Qaffin and Shufa villages, and near the Beit Iba checkpoint in Tulkarm in protest against the Barrier, the closures, and to remember the 1967 War.

· 73 flying checkpoints, 104 IDF search operations, and 44 arrests/detentions of Palestinians were reported this week.
