Humanitarian Coordinator condemns stone-throwing attack on UN vehicle in E. Jerusalem – UNSCO statement

PRESS RELEASE
Statement by Humanitarian for Development and Humanitarian Activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory,
Mr. Robert Piper, on a stone-throwing attack on a UN vehicle in East Jerusalem

Jerusalem, 9 October 2015

“I condemn yesterday evening’s stone-throwing attack on a clearly marked United Nations (UN) vehicle traveling on Route 50 in East Jerusalem, which seriously injured a senior UN official. I join the rest of the UN family in wishing our colleague a speedy recovery.

This unacceptable violence will not deter the UN in its commitment to delivering assistance to those in need and improving people’s lives in the occupied Palestinian territory, as well as restoring the hope for a just and negotiated two-state solution.”
