UNDP Special Representative Discusses Future Cooperation with Minister of Foreign Affairs

Jerusalem, 01 June 2015 – Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr Riyad Al Malki received UNDP Special Representative Roberto Valent in a courtesy meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ramallah on 01 June 2015.
H.E. Al Malki congratulated Mr Valent on his new appointment and briefed him on latest political developments in the State of Palestine.
They also discussed current projects UNDP is implementing in the areas of capacity development, knowledge management and public and social services, in addition to future initiatives.
For his part, Mr Valent reiterated UNDP’s commitment to supporting the aspirations and livelihoods of the Palestinian people and discussed the strategic partnership UNDP has with the Ministry in advancing the Palestinian development agenda. He also emphasized the importance of Gaza reconstruction and development of Palestinian institutions.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Khaled El Yazaji and UNDP Deputy Representative of Operations, Khaled Shahwan.
