Suicide attack against Israeli civilians in Netanya
The DFA condemns in the firmest terms the suicide attack committed in the Israeli town of Netanya causing at least four deaths and numerous injured among the civilian population. It expresses its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
The DFA is very concerned by the recent resurgence of the tensions in the region, especially by the violence which took place in recent days in and around the Gaza strip. The Department appeals to all parties to respect the cease-fire agreement concluded at the beginning of this year in Sharm-el-Sheik.
The DFA reminds that international humanitarian law prohibits all action against the civilian population and that only the respect by all parties of these principles will permit to create the necessary basis to resume the peace process.
