Folke Bernadotte Academy Delegation Visits OQR

On April 11 a delegation from the Swedish Folke Bernadotte Academy met with Head of Mission Dr. Firas Raad and Deputy Head of Mission Mark Singleton at the Office of the Quartet Representative. The Swedish delegation was led by Director-General Mr. Sven-Erik Soder.
The OQR’s work furthering economic development and state-building in support of the Palestinian Authority is delivered in coordination and close cooperation with our international donor and diplomatic partners. In addition to on-going cooperation and support to the OQR from the Jerusalem-based Swedish Consulate General, Sweden has recently joined the list of countries providing direct support by seconding an adviser to join our team of international diplomats and development experts. The adviser will work specifically on the development agenda in East Jerusalem. A Letter of Understanding for the provision of the adviser through the Folke Bernadotte Academy was signed at the meeting.
The Folke Bernadotte Academy is a Swedish government agency that works to enhance the quality and effectiveness of international conflict and crisis management. Its overall objective is to contribute to lasting peace and development. It does this by seconding Swedish civilian personal abroad, organising education, training and exercises, and working on policy development and research within the areas of conflict prevention, rule of law, SSR and DDR.
