Five Palestinian prosecutors conclude study trip to Sweden
Stockholm, September 18, 2014 – Five Palestinian prosecutors concluded a study trip to Stockholm, Sweden, aimed at gaining an understanding on the Swedish models of prosecution cooperation with other relevant authorities involved in economic crimes investigations.
During the three-day study trip, five prosecutors from the Economic Crimes Unit of the Attorney General's Office (AGO), were given presentations by the Swedish Prosecution Authority, the Financial Police, the Economic Crime Authority and the Tax Authority.
The Palestinian delegation also met with a team of specialized prosecutors dealing exclusively with infringements of intellectual property rights.
The study trip was arranged and funded by the Ramallah-based EUPOL COPPS Mission, and forms part of the missions efforts to assist the AGO in enhancing its capacities to better handle and prosecute complex crimes.
