Turkey resolutely maintains its efforts to meet promptly the basic needs, particularly the urgent necessities of the Palestinian people in time.

In this scope, upon the request and agreement of the State of Palestine, the Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Administration (AFAD) has transferred a financial aid amounting to 1.5 million U.S. dollars to the Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Palestine in order to ensure that hospitals and health centres in Gaza will be enabled to carry out their activities and meet the urgent needs primarily for fuel as well as medicines and other medical supplies.

The mentioned amount will be used to meet the needs of 13 hospitals and 54 health centres in Gaza for a period of six months in 2016.

In addition to this aid, Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), AFAD and Turkish Red Crescent continue to carry out their humanitarian aid efforts and projects in various fields, particularly health, technical assistance, safeguarding of cultural heritage, supply of water, construction of schools and scholarships for Palestine.

Turkey will continue to support its Palestinian brothers and sisters striving for survival under difficult conditions and being deprived of basic needs, by every means at its disposal.
