Polish Government Contributes $50,000 to UNRWA On Thursday 26th October, Mr Piotr Puchta, the Representative of the Government of Poland to the Palestinian Authority, presented a cheque for $50,000 to UNRWA’s Deputy Commissioner-General, Filippo Grandi, as Poland's contribution to the Agency’s General Fund for 2006. Poland became a donor to UNRWA in 2002 and this year has increased its contribution by 150% in the context of an overall major increase in assistance to the occupied Palestinian territory. This development marks an important milestone in relations between Poland and UNRWA and another step forward in the Agency's efforts to broaden its donor base through increased contributions from newer donor states.
