19.08.2013 – The United Nations Development Programme and the Bahraini Royal Charity Organization (RCO) signed an agreement worth USD 517,880 to establish a public library in East Jerusalem. The project includes the rehabilitation, furnishing and equipping of a three story historical building in the Old City of Jerusalem, in addition to developing the capacities of Al Quds University staff in library management. The agreement was signed by the Secretary-General of the Royal Charity Organization – Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed and UNDP Deputy Special Representative (Operations), Khaled Shahwan at the Jerusalem Archaeological Studies Unit/Al-Quds University in the Old City of Jerusalem.
