Foreign ministers discuss the Middle East peace process at the Euromed meeting in Tampere on 27-28 November

The EU sees hope for the reinvigoration of the Middle East peace process, said Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja on Monday in Tampere, Finland, where the EU Foreign Ministers and their Mediterranean counterparts are holding the Euromed Ministerial Conference. Foreign Ministers will discuss the Middle East peace process over dinner on Monday evening. 

"It is a particularly important to discuss the situation in the Middle East now as the recent ceasefire has raised hopes for a return to the peace process", Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja said at a press conference prior to the meeting.

Tuesday's plenary session will cover all aspects of the Barcelona Process. In addition to plenaries, there will also be meetings of the EU troika with Israel and the Arab group, as well as with the Palestinian delegation attending the meeting in Tampere.

The press conferences on Monday at 15.30 (GMT+2) (EU-Israel Troika) and at 17.30 (GMT+2) (EU-Arab Group Troika) and on Tuesday at 12.45 (GMT+2) (final press conference) will be webcast and can be viewed live or as recordings on this website.
