    Report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (S/2005/460*)

  

 The President : The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations.

  Members of the Council have before them the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, document S/2005/460*.

  Members of the Council also have before them document S/2005/491*, which contains the text of a draft resolution submitted by France, Greece, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America.

  I should also like to draw the attention of members of the Council to documents S/2005/58, S/2005/105, S/2005/106, S/2005/168, S/2005/242, S/2005/304, S/2005/339, S/2005/369, S/2005/424, S/2005/435 and S/2005/444, which contain letters from Lebanon; and documents S/2005/312, S/2005/352 and S/2005/423, which contain letters from Israel.

  It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote of the draft resolution (S/2005/491*) before it. Unless I hear any objection, I shall put the draft resolution to the vote now.

  There being no objection, it is so decided.

  A vote was taken by show of hands.

 The President: There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has been adopted unanimously as resolution 1614 (2005).

  The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on its agenda.

    The meeting rose at 10.15 a.m.
