The Lebanese Government strongly condemns the continued Israeli occupation and the fresh attacks and arbitrary practices against the Lebanese civilian population that have left a number of innocent casualties and caused further serious damage to property and infrastructure.

Like previous attacks, this new series is in flagrant violation of the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon and in breach of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, public international law, international humanitarian law and the fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.

I should be grateful if you would have this letter circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 43, and of the Security Council.
