Official communiqué of the 4576th (closed) meeting
of the Security Council
Held in private at Headquarters, New York, on Wednesday,
17 July 2002, at 11.15 a.m.
In accordance with rule 55 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the following communiqué was issued through the Secretary-General in place of a verbatim record:
“On 17 July 2002, the Security Council, pursuant to annex II, section A of resolution 1353 (2001), held its 4576th meeting in private with the troop-contributing countries to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
“The Security Council and the troop-contributing countries heard a briefing under rule 39 of its provisional rules of procedure by Ms. Louise Laheurte, Deputy Director of the Asia and Middle East Division of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
“The members of the Council had a constructive exchange of views with representatives of participating troop-contributing countries.”
