Supplemental information

The Chief of Staff of UNTSO, Major-General Ensio Siilasvuo, has submitted the following report on incidents observed by United Nations military observers on 9 October 1972:

Israel-Lebanon sector

1. OP 1/ reports on ground activity:

OP Ras: Between 0430 2/ and 1536 Israel forces personnel, armoured personnel carrier and trailer reoccupied position at point at approximate Mr. 1907-2749 north of border pillar 19.

2. OP reports on air activity:

OP Naq: Between 0828 and 0829 one Israel forces jet aircraft flying north-east to south-west first observed north-west of OP recrossed the ADL (armistice demarcation line) west-south-west of OP.

Israel-Syria sector

OP reports:

(a) OP three: At 0431 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, by Israel forces.

(b) OP Five: Between 1622 and 1632 sporadic machine-gun fire by Israel forces.

(c) OP Four: Between 2154 and 2156 intense machine-gun fire by Israel forces.
