DRAFT RESOLUTION SUBMITTED BY THE REPRESENTATIVE OF ARGENTINA
 AT THE 427TH MEETING, 16 JUNE 1949, CONCERNING
THE ADMISSION OF TRANSJORDAN TO MEMBERSHIP
IN THE UNITED NATIONS
The Security Council

Noting General Assembly resolution 197 (III), D, of 8 December 1948, regarding the application of TRANSJORDAN for membership in the United Nations,

Decides that in its judgment TRANSJORDAN is a peace-loving State and is able and willing to carry out the obligation contained in the Charter; and accordingly

Recommends to the General Assembly that it admit TRANSJORDAN to membership in the United Nations.

The Security Council on 13 September 1949 voted on the draft resolution as follows:

In Favour: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Colombia, France, Syria, United Kingdom, United States of America.
Against: Poland, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics.
