Letter dated 7 October 2009 from the Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council
I have the pleasure to write to you, in your capacity as President of the Security Council for the month of October, to express the full support of the Non-Aligned Movement for the request presented by the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to convene an urgent meeting of the Security Council to consider the report of the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict, also known as the “Goldstone report”.
The Non-Aligned Movement urges the Security Council to assume its responsibilities to consider and act on the recommendations of the Fact-Finding Mission to the Security Council regarding violations committed to international law and international humanitarian law.
I should be grateful if you would arrange to have the text of the present letter made available to the members of the Security Council and to have it distributed as a document of the Council, in connection with the item entitled “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question”.
