I am delighted to join you for the opening of the “China in Action” exhibition.

I commend China for its strong commitment to the 2030 Agenda.  

China has aligned its current Five-Year Plan with the Sustainable Development Goals domestically, and played a critical role in the adoption of the G20 Action Plan on the 2030 Agenda. 

China is also contributing to sustainable and resilient infrastructure at the regional and global level through the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

I also welcome China’s notable increase in international cooperation pledges in recent years, from poverty alleviation to climate action.

And I thank China for establishing the UN Peace and Development Fund to support the work of the United Nations on peace and security, as well as the 2030 Agenda. 

This exhibition offers a snapshot of the ways in China is working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. 

Let us all learn from the rich experience shared by China -- and be part of a “World in Action” to leave no one behind.
