The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. They exchanged views on regional developments. 

The Secretary-General reiterated the UN’s readiness to support the Government of Equatorial Guinea to promote internal reforms and advance sustainable development programmes in the country.  He also commended Equatorial Guinea for its election as non-permanent member of the Security Council.

El Secretario General se reunió el día de hoy con S.E. el Sr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Presidente de la República de Guinea Ecuatorial. Ambos discutieron sobre los últimos acontecimientos en la región. 

El Secretario General reiteró la disposición de la ONU a ayudar al Gobierno de Guinea Ecuatorial a promover reformas democráticas y llevar a cabo programas desarrollo sostenible en el país. También felicitó a Guinea Ecuatorial por su elección como miembro no permanente del Consejo de Seguridad.
