Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The Secretary-General congratulated Luxembourg for its active support to United Nations agenda, directly or through the European institutions. 

The Secretary-General and Mr. Bettel also discussed the situation in Syria. Finally, the Secretary-General welcomed Luxembourg’s commitment to ensuring that the Peacebuilding Funds is recapitalized, thus allowing the UN System to maintain its ability to seize opportunities to build and sustain peace.
