Readout of the Deputy Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, on the margins of the 67th United Nations General Assembly

The Deputy Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

They discussed energy, climate change and disarmament, among other issues. The Deputy Secretary-General thanked the President for the constructive proposals the Government of Turkmenistan had brought to the General Assembly, and encouraged him to make efforts to ensure that Turkmenistan's work on nuclear disarmament became more widely known internationally.
