The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Abdrabuh Mansour Hadi Mansour, President of the Republic of Yemen.
The Secretary-General and the President reviewed the current situation in Yemen, in particular with regard to the progress of Yemen’s transition process. They also discussed developments in the wider region.
The Secretary-General welcomed President Mansour’s leadership in moving Yemen’s transition forward and reiterated the UN’s strong commitment to support this process. He also expressed concern about all actions aimed at undermining the transition process and emphasized that such actions must stop. The Secretary-General noted that all Yemeni sides should seize the opportunity of the upcoming National Dialogue to agree on tangible reforms that promote peace, stability and prosperity for all Yemeni people.
