The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Carlos Alvarado Quesada, President of Costa Rica.  The Secretary-General commended Costa Rica for the important steps taken towards the implementation of a carbon-free economy and thanked President Alvarado for his leadership in the lead-up to COP25.  The Secretary-General and the President also discussed regional developments.
