Statement attributable to the Spokesman for the Secretary-General on the attack on west Aleppo

The Secretary-General condemns the reported attack on a school in the western part of Aleppo city, Syria, today, which killed a number of children. Such attacks, if deliberate, may amount to war crimes.

Those responsible for these acts must be brought to justice. The Secretary-General reiterates his call on the Security Council to refer the situation in Syria to the International Criminal Court.
