Statement attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General on Iran

The Secretary-General condemns the terrorist attack on a bus in the southeastern city of Zahedan carrying Iranian security officers, which killed at least 18 people and wounded many more. He reiterates that no cause can justify the use of terrorist violence. He extends his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
