Statement attributable to the Spokesman for the Secretary-General on Cambodia

The Secretary-General welcomes the signing of a coalition agreement in Phnom Penh on 30 June 2004 between the Cambodian People's Party and the FUNCINPEC party to form a new government in Cambodia. It is his sincere hope that the agreement will be quickly formalized by the appropriate organs, so that a new government will be established as soon as possible.
