Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar

The Secretary-General met today with H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, at the opening of the Thirteenth International United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. The Secretary-General thanked the Emir for hosting the event.

The Secretary-General and the Emir discussed several regional issues of mutual concern, including Yemen, Syria and the Middle East peace process. They also exchanged views on climate change.
