In response to questions about the activities of the Special Adviser on Yemen, the Spokesman has the following to say:
Today, 23 January, the Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on Yemen, Jamal Benomar, met with President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, Prime Minister Khaled Bahah and Houthi representatives.
His consistent message to all political parties is that they need to engage in inclusive consultations with each other that will produce an agreement on how to move forward from the current crisis.
The Special Adviser also had meetings with members of the diplomatic community in Sana’a.
In the immediate term, he will continue to actively engage with all parties and is seeking to meet with different political groupings in the coming days.
