Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar

The Secretary-General met with His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani today.  They discussed developments underway in the Arab world, in particular the situations in Syria and Libya, and the Middle East peace process.

The Secretary-General noted that the Conference of the Parties 18 (COP18) would advance climate change negotiations ahead of the 2015 deadline.
