The Secretary-General had a number of meetings in Jeddah today, the last day of his visit to Saudi Arabia.

In a meeting with H.E. Mr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Secretary-General and the Minister discussed the Sustainable Energy for All initiative, the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development and Saudi Arabia's energy strategy.

The Secretary-General met H.E. Faisal Al-Muammar, the Secretary-General of the King Abdullah International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue, who outlined the Centre’s work.

The Secretary-General also visited the Islamic Development Bank, where he met Mr. Birama Sidibe, the Bank’s Acting President. They discussed the work of the Bank, regional economic developments and Rio+20.
