The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. William Hague, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom.
They discussed the situation in Syria, including the visits to the country by Joint Special Envoy Kofi Annan and Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Valerie Amos.
The Secretary-General also expressed his appreciation to the United Kingdom for its role in organizing the London Conference on Somalia in February and underlined the importance of following up on the outcomes of the Conference and Garowe II.
The Secretary-General and Mr. Hague also exchanged views on the situation concerning Sudan and South Sudan.
