The Secretary-General met today, 1 December 2010, with H.E. Mr. Kim Sung-hwan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, in Astana, on the margins of the OSCE Summit.

The discussions focused on the situation on the Korean Peninsula. The Secretary-General and the Minister also talked about the Republic of Korea's contribution to the UN agenda.

In addition, they discussed, follow-up to the G20 Summit held last month in Seoul, preparations for the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit to be held in the Republic of Korea, and moves to ease HIV/AIDS travel restrictions.
