Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Secretary General of NATO, on the margins of the 67th United Nations General Assembly

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Secretary General of NATO.

They discussed long-term international support to Afghanistan, in particular training of Afghan security forces, and follow-up to the Chicago Summit. They also discussed issues of mutual interest including the role of NATO in Kosovo and in Libya.

They further exchanged views on the situation in Syria and on ongoing cooperation between the Secretariats of the two Organizations.
