Q: [on relations between China and Japan]
SG: I think the two countries, I hope, will maintain their contacts. They have a whole series of contacts –commercial, financial, political and others –and I hope this issue will be handled in a manner that would not escalate. I rely on the wisdom of the two countries to find a way out.
Q: It's being done in the context of your Report, though. How concerned are you that your Report [In Larger Freedom…] is creating division?
SG: I am not sure that it's the Report that provoked this sort of thing. I'm not sure that without the Report this wouldn't have come to the surface, but as I said I rely on the wisdom of the two countries to deal with it.
