Q: If they have a vote as early as tomorrow on the US resolution on Iraq, how quickly will you be moving to appoint the Special Representative and fulfil the UN's mandate in that, and do you think that resolution as it stands now really does give the kind of role for the UN that you were hoping for?
SG: Well, once a resolution is passed I will move very quickly to appoint a Special Representative who would take up his job, his work in Iraq, as soon as is practicable. I think the resolution which is still under discussion and hasn't been passed yet has seen many changes and I don't know what is going to happen today.
Q: What have you been doing, or what progress have you made in putting together a team for the [Democratic Republic of the] Congo, a multinational force?
SG: We are making some progress. We are in touch with several countries that may join and offer to put up troops.
